Background Michael O'Connor began practicing
law in 1985 with Branton & Hall, PC, a civil litigation firm founded
by former State Bar of Texas President James L. Branton. During his employment
he had the opportunity to try cases varying from product liability and
aviation damages cases to deceptive trade and insurance litigation cases.
He became board certified in Civil Trial Law five years later in 1990.
From 1989 to 1995 he was litigation counsel for a Chapter 7 Trustee, practicing
almost exclusively in the areas of bankruptcy litigation and commercial
litigation prior to opening his own practice in 1995.
Education Michael O'Connor is a 1985 graduate
of St. Mary’s University Law School and was licensed to practice law in
the State of Texas in November 1985. He received his BBA degree from the
University of Iowa in 1979. He passed the CPA exam in Iowa in 1980 and
practiced as a CPA in Iowa prior to enrolling in law school.
